For inspiration, here are a few events we've worked on in Australia and around the world.

We worked with the event planners of the Melbourne Royal Show to design and manufacture outdoor neon signs. As it's an annual event, the signs had to be made for easy installation, dismantling, and storage, ready for use the next year. We made each of the large 3.5m x 3.5m signs in 6 separate pieces to ensure safe transport and handling.

Award-winning performer Karen from Finance wanted an eye-catching stage backdrop for her Doing Time cabaret show. It had to be lightweight, easy to transport, and sturdy enough for touring throughout her native Australia and onward to England before heading to Edinburgh Fringe.

We designed a custom acrylic backboard UV printed in the show's colours. Framed in LED neon with RGB colour-changing technology and flanked by (nearly) 6ft tall colour-changing "jail bars", the result is a stage sign almost as stunning as Karen's outfits!

The 2023 World Pride was hosted by Sydney, Australia, with a huge variety of celebrations, artwork, and public space upgrades, including a unique installation at Newtown Pedestrian Tunnel. We worked with Sydney artist Kieran Hugues Butler to illuminate their vision as part of the reVITALise Rainbow Tunnels Project for Sydney WorldPride 2023.

The Transport for NSW Safer Cities Program reVITALise Inner West Tunnels project aims to revitalize pedestrian tunnels in Sydney's inner west with lighting and public art to help make people feel safer using these spaces. Managed by Cultural Capital, local LGBTIQA+ artists were commissioned to design creative installations, celebrating the Inner West community, enhancing the public space experience and sense of safety.

Kieran's work, 1,000 Kisses, is a text-based LED neon lighting installation made by Custom Neon. Kieran explains:

The Melbourne Flower Show is the largest flower and garden show in the Southern Hemisphere. Each year the event offers breathtaking floral displays and spectacular Show Gardens. Akas Landscape Architecture and NRTH Landscapes incorporated two bespoke Custom Neon signs into their Show Garden, using them to draw attention to an important message.

Akas Landscapes describes their entry:

Using our state-of-the-art IP67 waterproof-rated product, we created a range of LED neon signs and animated neon art to light up this downtown entertainment district during the annual White Night festival. The outdoor signage included innovative streetscape lighting, illuminated art on buildings, animated pedestrian level artwork and 3D neon heart "lamps".

We worked with the event organizers for the 2022 MLS All-Star Game in Minnesota, providing large LED neon waterproof signs that were installed above the food trucks on the Great Lawn at Allianz Field.

Custom Neon created directional signage for the 26th annual Major League Soccer All-Star Game, lighting up the fairground atmosphere in the fan zone with a glorious neon glow. Each sign was made to an IP67 waterproof standard using dark red LED neon fully encased in clear acrylic.
